The Poetry of M.P. Hamm
~ A brief introduction ~
My name is Maximilien Hein.
I am an amateur poet.
I first began writing poetry at the end of 2019.
While my first two poems were written in free verse, the majority of my early output consisted of sonnets as their strict form allowed me explore my writing without the decision paralysis of total creative freedom.
As I got more comfortable with my writing, I expanded into other styles.
Here are collected those poems of mine which I deemed worthy of public display.
Please read and enjoy them!
You might be curious about the origins of my pen-name, M.P. Hamm.
M.P. stands for Max Power, and my initials backwards are H.A.M., so Hamm is a variation on that.
Thus we are left with M.P. Hamm!
Some of my personal favorite poems include
Kubla Khan
by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and
Dying Speech of an Old Philosopher
by Walter Savage Landor.
